HOW I KNOW YOU LOVE ME
First, you used to crawl across the floor barking at me when I arrived home from work,
kicking in my arms, doing your best to leap backwards to the floor, your face flushed
with an enthusiasm that wiped away my fears and disappointments about the day.
Now, you crawl across the floor, moaning with the effort, crying at my feet and grabbing
me, trying to chew my pant leg, I pick you up and you are grabbing your ear, banging
your head against mine, your face big with steroids and none of it matters, you grind
out an enthusiasm that wipes away my fears and disappointments about the day.
