Words to a Young Poet in Love

Do you always give up so easily?
You think it a snap
to lay siege to love,
love awaits you so eagerly?
You, the best possible choice?

If you seek treasure, seek peril, it’s quicker;
if you seek truth, try faith, it’s convenient;
if you seek beauty, buy, it’s easier
and you can always get a refund.

If you seek love, you will pay,
there will be pain,
you will bleed,
there will be sorrow,
you will regret your acts of heroism,
the self-imposed torture,

plus unimaginable joy and pleasure.
But only if you play to win.

More Poetry:

Let Go Donald Let Go!

Don’t matter what USA say
Donald can change it anyway
If he don’t like it
he won’t play
see where that leaves you
Mr. and Mrs. Yesterday
You’re so loser

spring storm

blue grey opal shoals of storm blow
tonight though it is still pink pearl dusk
and each obsidian shadow a life of its own

Mountain of birds

The very moment when all goes wrong
the thought who will pay, how will this be fixed
pale beside the sight of the mountain of birds.
The innocent, slain, built into a burial heap,
what’s wrong, in your life, with your lie?

_pray Foam

Driving home
I follow a truck,
written on its back
“_pray Foam,” and I think
