city of gold   city of colours
viewing sun hitting jewels of northern wonder
architecture clocks and bells towers and waters
o Amsterdam
mist n’ early mornin’ haze n’ sun filtering
particles of air cold and bright
heat already baking up from the ground
as sun cracks the morning cloud
cracks over colour city noises wake
too birds, people on the way
transports whistles voices singing rhythm
in another tongue
i am in the colour city all the time kisses
my eyes wandering gentle canals
trees tall roots deep smile in water
trees over canal birds over squares in mondrian blue
streets for everyone with organ grinders
sending the city’s traditional through morning airs
the apple rich smells of bakery and koffe hausen
rich smells rich colours ooo stagger me stagger me
Colour city.
